Target Practice Friday #15

borrowed stole the idea for the Target Practice Friday series from the ladies over at Fit.Fun.Femme.  I do things a little differently, but ultimately it’s where I share my progress on my short term goals, a.k.a targets.

I hope you all are getting ready to enjoy the weekend! I have an event-fulled weekend ahead of myself… everything from Knotts Scary Farm (Gosh! I love Halloween!) to a baby shower.  While I am looking forward to the busy weekend ahead, it leaves little time for workouts. That leads to my this weekends Target Practice…

Improve Pace - I didn’t focus on speed this week because I was recovering from my half on Saturday, but I did read Megan’s 7 Tips to Improve your Running Speed. One thing I learned from the post is that I really need to be patient with myself because improving pace won’t happen over night.

Handstand - There was a lot of handstand training this week. With the help of my personal trainer, I took practicing handstands away from the wall.  I was almost able to hold myself up all by myself.  I got in about 5 seconds!

Half Marathon – I completed my first half marathon on Saturday!!! It was awesome and you can read about it here. I have my Las Vegas Rock n Roll Half in four weeks!  My plan is to run 10 miles this weekend, 12 miles the next two weekends, and a easy 8 miles the weekend before the race.

Eating Clean - Gradually I have been re-introducing salads back into my diet. I made a fajita salad the other day and it was delish!

Other than a few salads, my eats have been pretty bad this week. There were cookies, pizza, and pasta… next week will be better!

  1. Awesome job on the handstand! That’s one of the things that I’d like to start practicing and get good at. Clean eating is so hard when you’re constantly surrounded by all these temptations! At work today, there is cookies and all sorts of pastries. Ugh! I allowed myself one piece of apple cake though! ;-)
