Calling all Fashionistas! Stitch Fix Addition

I need help from all you lovely fashionistas out there. Yesterday I received my first Stitch Fix in the mail.  I had heard about Stitch Fix from several different blogs and loved the idea. Basically Stitch Fix is a styling service. You tell them what your size, style, and cost preferences are, and they will hand select and deliver 5 items to your doorstep.  This service is great for those living in rural areas.

Needless to say, I love fashion! I always have and always will. When the Bear and I got married, he put me on a clothing budget. I later turned my 10×10 basement into a closet when the Bear and I bought our first house, but to my defense, closets are much smaller in houses built in the 1920s! I will admit it though! I am definitely a shopaholic, so I thought I would give Stitch Fix a try.

After setting up a personal profile by answering a few questions on my style and size, Stitch Fix sent my first box this week.  It arrived yesterday!

Here is what was in the box:

I love the design of this blouse, but it was a little tight around the hips. These hips definitely don’t lie! At $58 I think this one is getting shipped back.

imageWhile I love me some black pants, (I already own eight) this pair just doesn’t fit my body. I won’t even show you my backside! Is reverse camel toe a thing?! TMI?

wpid-20131021_171331.jpgThis necklace is cute and classic. The price tag says $38. What do you think? Should I keep it?

I really like this black top! The studs add a rocker flare which I love. Plus, it’s fitted around my waist and loose around my hips. I can see myself wearing it to the next concert. Keeper at $58?

I find the next top really cute! The colors and style are right up my alley, but the fit is boxy. Maybe it would be cute with a belt?  Should I keep it for $58?

With each item of clothing, Stitch Fix also sent a styling card.  Perfect for when you are in a styling rut!

I have three days to ship back everything that I don’t want to keep to Stitch Fix. I am contemplating on keeping the black studded top, colorful chevron stripe blouse, and/or the necklace. Should I keep all three and ask for Bear forgiveness? :-)

  1. Oh I just signed up for Stitch Fix and I am so excited to try it out!! I’m bummed that it won’t arrive until November 13th though!! So I love the black blouse. I think it looks great on you! I would get that one. I think the necklace is cute but I don’t know if I really LOVE it, although it looks good with the last blouse.

  2. Get all three, get all three! Well, if you have to choose pick the black blouse for sure. I love the chevron print and color, but it doesn’t show off your little waist – the cut is a bit boxy. I have got to check out Stitch Fix!

  3. My fave was the blouse with green, too bad it doesn’t fit right. :/ I also really like the black blouse and the necklace (but not together). Good luck choosing!

    • I do the same thing! I try to find trendy pieces of clothing at the less expensive stores because they will be out of style in six months anyways. :-)

  4. Haha, I love it – hips don’t lie! I have a similar style – I prefer looser things around my hips as that is where I’m a bit wider. I got a big butt and I cannot lie. Also, reverse camel toe…. BAHAHAH! :)
Keep the black top! Like I said on IG you can never go wrong with black. Also, furthermore, and finally – I can’t believe how expensive all that stuff is. I mean, maybe it’s a good deal to some folks, but I’d never spend $58 on any clothing item, unless it was like specialty stuff… Jeez. I didn’t realize it was pricey!
Also you and your cute little fashion show is adorable. :)

  5. That’s hilarious that the Bear keeps you on a clothing budget. Brandon and I keep our finances separate but I have a feeling after we have kids that will change and he will probably limit me too!

I love the idea of Stitch Fix but I did not have good luck with them. Given, I am really picky but I swear they sent me opposite of everything I said in my profile.

I think you should keep the black top, it’s really flattering and cute! I’m not so crazy about the last one though. I say return that one.You might want to keep the pants. You never know, reverse camel toe could be the next trend…

  6. Reverse camel toe…BAHAHA! You’re too funny!

First – you are so pretty :). I love the black rocker t and the necklace. I’m also a shopper (and I love a good deal) but my grandma always says “you can go broke on bargains”. So – if you don’t LOVE it, send it back.

Stitch Fix is such a good idea!
